The short version

Post about books. Don't be awful to people. Don't post things you don't have the right to post. That covers most of it.

Your account

• You need to be 13 or older. This site is really aimed at adults.
• Give us a working email address and keep your password to yourself.
• One account per person. Don't impersonate anyone.

What you post

You keep ownership of your reviews and comments. By posting them here you give us permission to display them on the site — which is, after all, the point.

Please don't post:

• Harassment, threats, or abuse directed at anyone.
• Spam, scams, or affiliate-link dumps.
• Content that isn't yours to share, including pirated book text.
• Anything illegal.

Moderation

Anyone can report a post using the menu on it. We read reports by hand. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. There is no automated takedown system.

Book information

Book titles, covers, and descriptions come from third-party catalogues (Google Books, Open Library) or are entered by users. We don't guarantee it's accurate. Covers are shown for identification.

No warranty

The site is provided as-is. It is a small project run by four people in their spare time. It may break, lose data, or go offline. Please don't treat it as the only copy of anything important.

Charitable activity

Paperback Kids is not currently a registered nonprofit and does not accept donations. Nothing on this site should be read as a charitable solicitation.

Ending things

You can stop using the site whenever you like and delete your posts. We can suspend accounts that break these rules.

Changes

These terms will change as the product does — and properly, once they've had legal review.
